Block 7 is Pumpkins Aplenty by Bobbi Bridgeman at Bobbi Bridgeman at Snowy Days Quilting. In this block you make five small pumpkins and the then sew them together to make the 12 1/2" square block. The finished size of the block is 12" square. The pattern uses the stitch and flip method. Bobbie does a great job of describing this method for those of you who have not used it before. Bobbi's pattern and tutorial can be found at Bobbi at Snowy Days Quilting. As a host for Fall into a QAL quilt along, I am presenting my version of her block and my tips for completing it. All 12 of the blocks in the Fall into a QAL quilt along will be available free of charge on the designer's web site until November 13, 2018 at midnight EST. I will be offering links to the released block patterns on my Quilt Alongs page until then. Collect them all! In addition, I will be showing my version of the block every two weeks here on my blog. Want to keep track of all of the released blocks? Subscribe to the JANDA Bend Quilts Newsletter. You can also join our Partners in Design Facebook Group to follow the block releases and see the blocks of others. I had a lot of fun picking the pumpkin material! Below, you will see my fabric pulls.. The first step was cut all of the pieces for the background, stems, and pumpkins. It was easy to cut them out because all of the pieces were either squares or rectangles. See photos below. This is usually where I post intermediate piecing photos. However, I made a mistake piecing the sample pumpkin, and I had to unsew and re-piece the sample pumpkin. I thought it would be better to not show you the incorrect photos. It might be confusing. The directions are very clear. I was just having a bad sewing day. Be sure to read carefully and to flip and stitch the correct squares to your rectangles! Bobbi's photos are very helpful. I show my completed (and corrected) sample pumpkin below along with my completed block. Where Can I FInd the Patterns and the Designer's Tutorials? I'm sorry to hear that you had a hard sewing day! I have days like that, too, sometimes. It just seems like nothing goes right.

The batik pumpkins are gorgeous! There is so much depth to them - very fun look. I appreciate the candor on the bad sewing day. Happens to me more often than not these days as I sew when I'm tired after a long work day. But I do get to sew, always a win!
